The Icelandid Vegvisir can be found in the Huld manuscript (a modern collection of Icelandic spells) It states that if this sign is carried about one's person, the traveller shall not lose their way in storms or bad weather even if the way is not known.
This Vegvisir is hand printed onto a block of wood using a photomechanical transfer with accompanying runes set in the sides with steel pins. The box which houses the charm is based on an early Scandinavian long house with brass horns and printed heron panels adorning the roof which is essentially the lid. The interior is furnished with brass studded leatherwork with a hidden sturdy supporting chain. The front is fitted with two metal clasps and long brooch pin to secure the box, and finally several coats of beeswax has been applied together with the final ageing process
